Stags Leap Wine Cellars Fay 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon
Established by pioneering grape grower Nathan Fay in 1961 it was the first planting of Cabernet Sauvignon in what is now the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. Tasting Nathan Fay’s homemade Cabernet in 1969 by Warren Winiarski of Stags Leap Wine Cellars winery convinced him that this was the area for fabulous Cabernet. The 66-acre vineyard is planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon with 1.5 acres of Cabernet Franc. This bottle is in absolute perfect condition. The cork is very tight, while the fill is excellent. Scores of the same vintage Cask 23 is 91/100.
